RIF-BLD Reasoning with IRIS
نویسندگان
چکیده
IRIS is an open-source, Java-based Datalog reasoner that supports various evaluation strategies and extensions such as function symbols and equality in the rule conclusion. The main objective of IRIS is to serve as general purpose reasoner for the Semantic Web, which is realized by an implementation that focuses on compliance with existing W3C standards like the Rule Interchange Format (RIF), thereby supporting the XML Schema Definition datatypes. Furthermore, IRIS acts as base for extensions that allow for reasoning with the OWL 2 profiles EL and RL and the Web Service Modeling Language (WSML). In this demo, we present the IRIS reasoner and its applications, as well as the larger WSML2Reasoner framework with IRIS at its core. The basic IRIS implementation for RIF and OWL 2 reasoning is stable, however, further performance improvements and the implementation of effective parallelized rule-based reasoning strategies that are ongoing work will also be presented.

Omni-directional Hyper Logic Programs in SILK and RIF
SILK is an expressive Semantic Web rule language and system equipped with scalable reactive higher-order defaults. We present two of its latest novel features. Omni rules are prioritized defeasible clauses that provide a higher-level expressive abstraction for users by making rules omni-directional. They handle multi-way conflicts. And they are soundly interoperable with FOL and W3C OWL as well...
متن کاملWSML2Reasoner - A Comprehensive Reasoning Framework for the Semantic Web
The amount of data on the Internet is rapidly growing. Formal languages are used to annotate such data in order to make it machine-understandable; i.e., allow machines to reason about it, to check consistency, to answer queries, or to infer new facts. Essential for this are formalisms that allow for tractable and efficient reasoning algorithms. Particular care is demanded in efficiently respond...
متن کاملUncertainty Treatment in the Rule Interchange Format: From Encoding to Extension
The Rule Interchange Format (RIF) is an emerging W3C format that allows rules to be exchanged between rule systems. Uncertainty is an intrinsic feature of real world knowledge, hence it is important to take it into account when building logic rule formalisms. However, the set of truth values in the Basic Logic Dialect (RIF-BLD) currently consists of only two values (t and f). In this paper, we ...
متن کاملProcessing RIF and OWL2RL within DLVHEX
We present an extension of the DLVHEX system to support RIF-Core, a dialect of W3C’s Rule Interchange Format (RIF), as well as combinations of RIF-Core and OWL2RL ontologies. DLVHEX is a plugin system on top of DLV, a disjunctive Datalog engine which enables higher-order and external atoms, as well as input rewriting capabilities, which are provided as plugins and enable DLVHEX to bidirectional...
متن کاملPSOATransRun: Translating and Running PSOA RuleML via the TPTP Interchange Language for Theorem Provers
PSOA RuleML is an object-relational rule language generalizing POSL, OO RuleML, F-logic, and RIF-BLD. In PSOA RuleML, the notion of positional-slotted, object-applicative (psoa) terms is used as a generalization of: (1) positional-slotted terms in POSL and OO RuleML and (2) frame and class-membership terms in F-logic and RIF-BLD. We demonstrate an online PSOA RuleML reasoning service, PSOATrans...
